Spay & Neuter
Spay and neuter is not only best for your pet’s health, it’s the law. Spay and neuter surgeries are scheduled Monday through Friday. For those clients with stray cats that are difficult to trap, we welcome you to drop them off when you catch them and we will work them into our surgery schedule – even if it means boarding them overnight.
We can spay or neuter your cat or dog as early as 12 weeks old. For some species the minimum age requirement will vary; for example we recommend that for rabbits to be spayed or neutered they be at least 6 months old. Spaying and neutering your pet at a young age can help prevent certain infections and types of cancer later in life.
San Antonio city ordinance requires that all pets be spayed or neutered unless there is a medical reason preventing the surgery or unless you have paid an additional fee for a non-sterilized city license. San Antonio law demands that any cat staying outdoors be spayed or neutered. The owner of any female dog or cat who has a litter must have a litter permit and this permit only allows a pet to have one litter per year.
